ABSTRACT
The register’s version of Barrow’s fifth examination is of interest because it enables us to check Barrow’s own version. By comparing them, we can see that Barrow’s memory is remarkably accurate. During the first part of the examination, he was allowed to write out his replies and give them to the register. This privilege seems to have been denied him after his first question or after he had been recalled.
