ABSTRACT

The author’s exploratory survey reported the use of nettle sting by 10 males and 8 females, age range 42-82, living in the United Kingdom. All were self-prescribing and using fresh nettle leaves (Urtica dioica) to raise urticarial weals on areas requiring relief from musculoskeletal pain. Only the 82-year-old male, awaiting a second knee joint replacement, did not benefit. Some interviewees considered themselves cured. No adverse reports were recorded.
