ABSTRACT

Scholars from several disciplines are addressing these issues – coming at them from the perspective of strategy, cross-cultural management, international business, organizational theory, sociology, and human resource management (HRM) (Evans, Pucik and Barsoux 2002). It appears that the traditional boundaries between academic disciplines and functional areas (e.g., HRM and strategy) are becoming more highly integrated and that the globalization of business is having a significant impact on human resource management and organizational performance (Dowling, Welch and Schuler 1999). This chapter presents an integration of various approaches to designing and delivering courses on the topic of international human resource management.
