ABSTRACT
This chapter will report on a project to place historical reference and archival material onto CD-ROM in an integrated multi-media format for low-cost public acquisition, Much of the material used was originally developed for other purposes and has been 'recycled' into a multi-media format for use on the Macintosh with HyperCard 2.1. The purpose, techniques and processes of the project may be of interest to historians and archivists concerned with the wider dissemination of historical materials through multi-media, especially in situations where the commercial market for such software is not viable.
