ABSTRACT
The Integrated Modelling Project is developing software which will enable children to build models. The software is intended to fulfil the model-building component of the National Curriculum for England and Wales. The software is applicable at Key Stages 2 to 4 (ages 7 to 16), and above. Information technology capability is expected to be achieved through other curriculum areas rather than through a subject called 'Information Technology'. It is possible that in history, children might build computer based models, thereby developing their understanding of history at the same time as acquiring information technology capability.
