ABSTRACT

MBILE YAYA BITANG During a colloquium organised some years ago by the Cameroon centre of

the International Theatre Institute on the topic: ‘Cameroon theatre: perspectives

and achievements’, Professor Polycarpe Oyie Ndzie described Cameroon theatre

as a forest: we can sometimes see the fascinating movement of its canopy,

but very scarcely does it show to its numerous researchers the secrets of its

inner life.
