Duncan Cavens There is a long history of using computer visualization in forestry, starting with early research in the 1970s (Kojima and Wagar 1972; Myklestad and Wagar 1977). This work, along with most subsequent development in the area, was inspired by the forestry industry’s long-standing need to manage the visual impact of its traditional forest harvesting practices.
