ABSTRACT
Social work and social care practitioners operate within the boundaries of specific legislation, and the agencies in which they work often have a mandate derived from social welfare policies and legislation. This is the case for those working in voluntary and independent agencies as well as in the statutory sector. This chapter will discuss the ways in which practitioners can use law and policy in their practice in relation to adult protection.
