ABSTRACT

A number of primary school teachers attending courses at an inservice meeting were asked the following question: ‘What do you think ought to be the aim of religious education in school?’ Here is a sample of their replies:

(a) To get the children to know something about God. Hardly any of them seem to go to Sunday school these days so it’s the only opportunity they’ll have to learn about Him.
