Clearly teaching children aged 5-6 and 10-11 years will be very different in many respects. The children aged 10 and 11 will have had a much wider range of life experiences, leading to a greater maturity. The younger children will be at a much earlier stage on the path. Key skills
In addition to the development of these qualities, there are a number of key skills which are being developed across the whole curriculum and these are progressive. It is unclear whether any key skill is unique to RE. However there are a number which are of particular significance to RE and these will be utilised in RE teaching and through their use developed and enhanced further. In particular, the following skills play a very important role.
