ABSTRACT
Christianity occupies the central place in RE in educational legislation. Described in the Education Reform Act (1988) as the principal tradition in Great Britain as opposed to the other principal traditions, it is taught across all four key stages and normally receives 50 per cent of the time allocated to RE.
