ABSTRACT
Feedback from the teacher on children’s work has an important role to play in children’s learning and in their view of themselves as capable and successful learners. There is much evidence that children base their view of themselves as learners and their likelihood of succeeding in the face of a new challenge, on the feedback they have from performance in similar tasks in the past. Feedback from previous success or failure accumulates to influence their future motivation for learning.
