ABSTRACT

The list of substances banned by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for the most part applies uniformly to all athletes, coaches, and team personnel. The substances that WADA prohibits at all times are classified into categories that consist of anabolic agents such as testosterone and anabolic-androgenic steroids; hormones, including erythropoietin and human growth hormone, beta-2 agonists, hormone and metabolic modulators such as insulin: and diuretics and masking agents. Football League indicate that WADA’s banned substance list may become a universal list for all athletes regardless of their sport, league or association. The substances sporting organizations such as WADA wish to ban do not always have a corresponding test to see whether athletes have used the banned substances. A key part of modern sport, the list enumerates to athletes exactly which substances they cannot use, when they cannot use them, and what they cannot do to avoid testing positive for a substance.
