ABSTRACT

Husserl distinguishes between the kind of being which consciousness has and the kind which everything else has. Heidegger turns all of the essential properties of human beings into ways of Existing. But are there really these differences in the way in which human beings exist? More generally, are there different modes or kinds of being? This is the fundamental question which we must try to answer.
