ABSTRACT

The environment is the set of the natural conditions of the human biosphere; it includes the quality of air, of rivers, lakes and the sea, of the soil and the quality of the living environment (e.g. biodiversity). From the point of view of an economist, the environment is a scarce good, but a good with its own specific features.
