ABSTRACT
It was to be six months before METPLAN took the next step towards a ‘regional development strategy’. Part of the delay was due to the transfer of the METPLAN function into the Regional Services Council and the resignation of the METPLAN director. Before he left, however, the director of METPLAN chaired the first meeting of the new committee tasked with formulating a regional development strategy, on 16 June 1989.
