ABSTRACT
Daughter of Menoeceus and sister of Creon. Called by Homer Epicaste, she married first Laius, king of Thebes, and then their son Oedipus, after he had unwittingly murdered his father. She bore him two sons, Eteocles and Polynices, and two daughters, Antigone and Ismene. See OEDIPUS.
