ABSTRACT

Son of Architeles; he was the cup-bearer of Oeneus. After Heracles had married Oeneus’ daughter Deianira, he accidentally killed Eunomus one evening, when the boy spilled wine over him; Heracles had merely meant to box his ears, but he underestimated his own strength, and the blow was so violent that it killed the youth. In consequence, Heracles went into exile.
