Finally, in order to ensure that I am correctly understood, I shall try to add an example to the precept by suggesting designs for the Observatory that will meet all the required conditions. This will perhaps lack a perfect concordance with the rules of the art or of building, and I shall take no account either of the beauty of the proportions, the embellishments or the decorations that only artists can add, it being their responsibility to remedy that lack.
