ABSTRACT

We were in our thirties when we got together, enthusiastic to have our own family. We were both established enough at work to have flats and mortgages and few financial worries. The biological time bomb was beginning to tick and brothers, sisters and friends were reproducing at a rapid rate. It wasn’t the only thing on our minds, however. We had bought our first sailing cruiser and were having incredible adventures exploring the coasts of Britain and North Europe. We were also involved in a self-build group aiming to build our own house in central London as well as work and an active social life!
