ABSTRACT

Blind people are just like the rest of us, but they cannot see. This difference in sensory and perceptual input can be trivial, or it can have important consequences for one's life and for survival. However, it is important to dispel a number of myths and misconceptions in the area, prior to considering the literature and present state of knowledge in the field.
