ABSTRACT

The passionate teacher will not only recognize the need for, but will also want to employ a range of teaching approaches that take account of the most up-to-date knowledge of teaching and learning. Such approaches will most effectively stimulate and support students’ learning, are fit for purpose and relate to teachers’ moral imperatives. This chapter, therefore, examines different models of teaching, intuition, expertise and tact, and pupil learning; and knowledge of different kinds of multiple, emotional, spiritual and ethical intelligences that inform and influence these.
