ABSTRACT
Does philosophy make progress? It certainly progresses, in the sense
that things change, agendas move on and debates are taken further or
abandoned. Philosophy is not static, although it differs from science, in
the sense that the philosophy of centuries ago is still considered valu-
able to philosophers working today, whereas the science of centuries
past belongs only to history.
