ABSTRACT

Many ergonomics interventions are directed at preventing musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace. Back, arm and shoulder injuries are still prevalent and a cause of much pain, suffering and cost to the injured workers, cost to the enterprises that may have to pay the workers even when they are not at work, and cost to the society that may have to pay for medical treatment and pensions in extreme, but unfortunately not rare, cases of serious and long-term injury.
