ABSTRACT

Régulation theory is primarily a macroeconomic theory. However, a small group of researchers who make direct reference to this theory have undertaken meso-economic analyses with a large sector-based component. They have studied two areas. The first area of investigation involves a demonstration of sector-based régulations, which require an explanation of the relations established between these régulations and the régulation of the overall level. The second area concerns differences in the capital-labour relation, involving a clarification of the tremendously diverse labour organisations and modes of labour force management in a context where the Fordist wage-labour nexus predominates.
