ABSTRACT
The task of this chapter is twofold. First, I argue that the newly emerging discipline of computer ethics could benefit from insights into feminist theory, particularly in areas where there may be substantial differences in men’s and women’s experiences online. Second, I illustrate how feminist theory can be used to make a more extended analysis than is usually available in discussions of computer ethics through examples of ‘cyberstalking’, an extreme form of Internet-based harassment.
