ABSTRACT
The characteristics of the economic development in Argentina together with the extended domestic market’s protection processes and long stages of political and economic instability did not promote the implementation of technological conducts which would innovate industrial companies. The lack of technological demand and the indifference of companies to improve quality and productivity caused disconnection among production, technological development and basic investigation with the resulting isolation of scientific groups.
