Nájera, Francisco (b. 1945), Guatemalan author. Nájera was born in Guatemala and now resides in New York City. A poet and a fiction writer, he investigates in his works the relationship between gender categories, eroticism and the process of writing. Throughout his works, the notion of the openness of love and that of the literary discourse are reclaimed. Nájera presents heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual forms of love and passion. In addition, religious rituals and traditional taboos are transgressed.
