ABSTRACT
Lord Beaverbrook is rightly known as the most influential ‘press baron’ of the twentieth century, although his personal campaign against Stanley Baldwin was remarkably unsuccessful in the 1920s and 1930s. Nevertheless, he also acted as a government minister in both World Wars, being particularly effective as Minister of Aircraft Production in 1940-1.
