ABSTRACT

Kamal Beeharee is the co-ordinator of services for early onset dementia in Brighton and Hove. A community psychiatric nurse, he is now manager of the Towner Club, which is a day club for younger people with dementia (normally under 65). The emphasis in the club is on freedom of choice and independence, and it offers a wide range of activities both within the building and in the community. It also offers a weekly art therapy group, which is discussed by Barry Falk in Chapter 9.
