ABSTRACT
A Recent issue of The Journal of Finance contains an article dealing generally with the question of the value of audits by professional accountants, the subject having apparently been suggested by the action of the General Steam Navigation Company in making its retrograde move of adopting amateur in place of professional auditors. It will be remembered that we called attention to this in a note appearing in our issue of the 12th inst.
