ABSTRACT

ICT can support the investigative aspects of science as well as those parts of the subject which are more concerned with knowledge. Skills and attitudes are often considered to be important parts of the science curriculum, and again, it is possible for ICT to be used to support both these areas of learning. The notion of communication is a powerful one within science, as well as in ICT. So ICT may help us support the communication which is necessary in science, as well as offering us ways of extending the limits of the communication process. ICT can also be seen as a tool for thinking, insofar as it can help children to present their results in a variety of ways. The use of a database; for example, can help to identify the patterns in data, so allowing children to use higher order thinking skills.
