ABSTRACT
As I stated in Chapter 1, and tried to show in subsequent chapters, the analyst’s mind is deeply involved in the relationship with the patient and plays an active role in determining, or rather helping to determine, what goes on in the field. His mind is continually exposed to beta elements, to the patient’s projective identifications, and to the analyst’s own natural PSD oscillation. This leads to a series of consequences.
