ABSTRACT

Whether or not the results from a child’s comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation are considered and the recommendations applied within the school setting is part of a complicated process. As discussed previously, when a private evaluation has been completed and the report has been provided to the parents, they must decide the best way to engage the school system. Once they submit a report to the school, however, this action triggers a process that determines whether or not a child is eligible for support services through a contract known as an Individualized Educational Program (IEP), a process proscribed by federal law but that may differ in details from state to state.
