ABSTRACT
The starting point for this chapter is the ongoing experience of working with abused children and their parents. It looks back to the valuable testimony of adult survivors and the expositions of concerned professionals, and forward with hope for a better response and outcome for children in the future. The theoretical context is illustrated by accounts from the interwoven histories of abused children and parents, some of whom were abused themselves as children.
