ABSTRACT
This unit focuses upon the educational and institutional causes of truancy. These data have been collected from a variety of sources. Figure 9.1 presents evidence collected from persistent absentees in selected schools in South Wales. This Table shows the very wide range of educational reasons which truants and persistent absentees can give for missing school.
