ABSTRACT

Language group of North America postulated by M.Haas (1951). The most important branch is Muskogean in the southeastern United States; in addition, other languages such as Yuki and Wappo in northern California are also included in a larger group, YukicGulf. According to Greenberg (1987), the Gulf languages belong to the Penutian language group.
