ABSTRACT
I have referred to transference and countertransference as disturbing the ending and termination of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in most of the preceding chapters. Why a special chapter on countertransference now? This is a reasonable question that I will attempt to answer in the following paragraphs. First, however, I will give a brief review to ensure that we are, as it were, on the same page.
