ABSTRACT
This chapter is a rather bold attempt to conceptualize what ~ if anything - is unique in the post-communist system emergent in Eastern Europe after 1989. My goal is twofold: I would like to offer a set of hypotheses concerning the characteristics of the political economy of post-communism; I also make an effort to describe the class structure of post-communist societies.
