ABSTRACT

This chapter draws upon the literature on group psychotherapy and group work for examples of the end-products of planning and for guidance in planning for particular populations. It includes five main sections:

• Six examples of groups designed for different populations of patients or clients. • Appreciating the range and variety of groups by sampling the recent literature. • Responses to recent pressures to conduct short-term and other forms of time-

effective psychotherapy groups. • A second look at some of the planning decisions set out in the preceding chapter. • Further guidance to be found in the literature.
