ABSTRACT

A therapist error is an action or a failure to act which has undesirable or harmful consequences for one or more members or for the group as a whole as a medium for personal gain.

Errors may occur in planning or in the course of conducting a group. They may be of commission or of omission. Some errors are very serious in their consequences; others less so. Some errors affect the group as a whole; some affect individuals. The consequences of some errors are retrievable; the consequences of others are not.
