ABSTRACT

The recommendations made in the previous chapter involve making use of a cotherapist, colleague, or supervisor. In doing so, one is of course making use of the experience of someone other than oneself. However, in Chapter 18 the focus was on one’s own groups and on one’s own behaviour and its consequences. In this chapter I move to making use of the experiences of others when that experience is independent of one’s own therapeutic efforts. This chapter is organised in four sections:

• Learning through reading about what others have to say about their work with groups or their thinking about groups.
