ABSTRACT

This is a study of post-war Soviet-Japanese and Russo-Japanese relations in terms of foreign-policy decision making. The objective of this book is to examine key decisions associated with the Soviet/Russo-Japanese summit meetings held in Moscow and Tokyo during the post-war era. Having the issues of political rapprochement and the territorial problem at the centre of the analysis, the study attempts to delineate the crucial features of post-war relations between the two countries.
