ABSTRACT
It could be argued that there should be no need to discuss a topic such as this. Elected members of parliament might hope, and indeed expect, that it should not be necessary to discuss legislative ethics or, for that matter, corporate, public service, journalistic, professional or any other sort of ethics which has been on the public agenda over the past few decades.
