ABSTRACT

I have insisted on remaining outside the establishment’s protected spaces, and have continuously desecrated the cult of art and its fetishization by the market by using the streets for my work.

For “Operations,” I transformed a line painted on a street to direct the path of traffic into a plus sign. In this way I interrogated political and cultural signs. Powers circulate and collide vertiginously in this piece to talk about bodies of power and their confrontation with unprotected and subversive South American bodies.
