ABSTRACT
As a proportion of overall energy use, lighting can figure surprisingly large, being responsible for up to 30 to 40 per cent of an electricity bill in places which have not embraced energy-efficient lighting. No other single activity in a normal office building uses more energy, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
