ABSTRACT
Passive heating and cooling refers to techniques to manage the internal temperature and air quality of a building without using power. Consequently, this chapter will examine building design and management with the aim of minimising the use of heating and cooling equipment. It will also look briefly at methods of heat recovery from equipment such as boilers and fridges. Chapter 7 will look at the heating and cooling systems themselves.
