ABSTRACT
The purpose of the strategic analysis was to obtain an understanding of the school and the wider environment in which it functions. Once the information has been gathered and made accessible through building an aggregated strategic view, then a number of areas will be identified that require attention over the mediumterm. From these areas, a number of possible strategic projects or activities will be generated. The senior team in a school then has to decide which activities are appropriate to pursue and then to divide them into those which have definable detailed strategies and outcomes in the immediate future and those which require the school to build capability and understanding around a strategic intent as a framework for action in the future.
