ABSTRACT
Reasons why observations made in everyday life might be flawed could include the fact
that:
• they are based on a limited number of people; • the event may only have been observed once; • the observations have probably been made in one particular setting and on one
subcultural group; • the observation may be hearsay (you did not see the event yourself but were told
about it);
• the observer may be biased; • the observation will not have been carefully planned.
