ABSTRACT

This is a crucial area in all empirical research. (It is not always so important in qualitative

research which may not, by its very nature, be replicable.) It is important that any results

that are obtained can be replicated if the work is repeated by someone else, as a measure

needs to produce consistent results if the findings are to be generalised beyond the

original research. If this is the case (that is if a result can be repeated), the measure is said

to be reliable.
